31.7%
of homes are detached houses
England average: 22.9%
About a third of homes in the constituency are detached.
Steel-town housing
Much of Corby was built quickly in the 1950s and 1960s for steelworkers, so brick terraces and semis with cavity walls are typical. A flap in a replacement uPVC back door, or through the wall into a kitchen, is usually simple.
Priors Hall and the villages
Priors Hall Park and other recent developments have composite doors that may still be under warranty, so a wall flap is often the better option. Older stone villages nearby, such as Rockingham, have listed cottages.

Questions from homeowners in Corby
My Priors Hall home is a new build. Where should the flap go?
Often through the wall, so the composite door and its warranty aren't affected.
I rent. Can I have a cat flap?
Only with your landlord's written permission. A flap in a replaceable door panel is often the easiest to agree.
Who handles planning?
North Northamptonshire Council.
