Seafront conversions
Converted Victorian houses near the seafront often need the freeholder's consent for alterations. Homes facing the Bristol Channel benefit from a well-sealed flap.
New estates
Newer areas such as Locking Parklands and Haywood Village have composite doors and cavity walls. A wall flap is often a good alternative.

Will a flap cope with wind off the Channel?
A flap with a strong magnetic closure and brush seals copes well, especially in a sheltered door.
